What width should I use?
The holes in armour that the braid is pushed through are called odoshi-no-ana. The larger the ana, the wider the braid needs to be. Try to avoid using braid that is not wide enough. If the braid is too wide it will also look incorrect. Most armours have a ana size of 2.5mm, the best braid for this is 7mm. You can use a standard power drill bit as a measuring tool. Ana over 2.5mm will require 9mm.
Silk is an organic material, due to this, there may be a variance in the actual width of the silk braid. Please allow between 0.5-1mm tolerance.
